Do you need to get an SR22 in New Hampshire?
What is an Sr-22 certificate? It is the proof of liability car insurance for the vehicle owner/driver which is submitted by the issuing auto insurance company to the Department of Safety.
An SR22 certificate can be owner or non owner.
New Hampshire SR22 requirements are:
1. Must be in place for 3 years from the date of conviction or from the date imposed by the state examiner
2. if the motorist is convicted of a second DUI offense 5 years from the date of the conviction
3. If the driver is convicted of major legal offense in the time frame required to carry sr-22, the requirement will be extended for 3 years from the date of that major conviction.
The issuing state sr-22 certificate confirms and certifies that you are complying with the financial responsibility laws imposed in the state of New Hampshire. This certificate is filed at the DMV by your auto insurance carrier.
The minimum required limits for liability coverage are 25/50/25, and this coverage needs to be in place before you can file for the sr-22 certificate. The limits stands for:
-$25,000 for Bodily Injury Liability per injured person up to a total of $50,000 per accident
- $25,000 Property Damage Liability coverage
